Dos melocotones elegantes in Mexico!
The Posh Brunette and I decided to take a little vacation together. We let the husbands tag along. 😉
I visited Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico last year on my one year anniversary with my husband and we absolutely fell in love with it. So, when we decided to go back this year for vacation we asked The Posh Brunette and husband if they would like to come as well! We joined in on a little family adventure! It seriously was so much fun! The island is the best vacation spot and it will be hard for us to decide to go anywhere different, because we just love it so much. There is so much to offer there!
Let’s take you through a tour of what a day in Isla Mujeres is like!
Experience Treehouse Yoga at Playa Norte
Walking along the beach at Playa Norte we found this Treehouse Yoga studio. For about $8 USD you can take a Yoga class in this adorable treehouse overlooking the ocean. Our instructor was fantastic and she was very patient with us, as we are not professional yogis. The class lasted about 1 hour. We went later in our trip, but it was definitely worth it and if we had more time we would’ve went back.
Rent a golf cart & explore the island.
Rent a golf cart for about $50 USD per day. Be your own tour guide and explore the island without having to be driven around. This is my favorite part of Isla Mujeres! I love the freedom to drive all over the island. …and yes, you can take a cold one along for the ride. Don’t forget to “give’m hell!”
The Tortugranja (translated: turtle farm) is a very cute and fun place to explore. Ride your golf cart down to Punta Sur / the South side of the island and you will find it. It only costs 30 pesos / $3 USD to enter and the proceeds go toward helping to continue to preserve the sea turtle population. You can see turtles of all different sizes and some other sea creatures like crabs, starfish and urchins while visiting.
Explore the Mayan Ruins!
Visit the Mayan ruins at Punta Sur! There isn’t much left of the ruins and isn’t really a temple or anything, but what I like about the ruins is if you go in the evening when the tide comes in there are huge waves and you feel like you are on the edge of the earth. It feels like the set of The Count of Monte Cristo with stairs leading down into the unknown at the water’s edge.
Hangout with some cool peeps.
Donate to a worthy cause!
Head back to the resort for an Eduardo Especial!
Complete some cute nail art while chilling by the pool.
Make new friends at the beach!
Oh dang, it’s only 2pm? Yes, island time is a wonderful thing!
Go shopping & take some pretty photos.
…And Don’t forget to go to Church!
If you are looking for a beautiful island getaway for your next vacation, we HIGHLY recommend Isla Mujeres!
