Closet Hack!

I love life hacks and I love, love, LOVE my closet! It’s the one room in the house that my husband never steps foot in. So I can literally do whatever I want with it! I’ve been rearranging and changing things in it since we moved in, but I finally think I’ve found some of the best ways to organize it. In the process I found an easy switcharoo that I thought I’d share!

This was my closet before:

What a mess! I have a shelf in there somewhere… All my shirts were dragging the shelf, my pants were on the bottom almost touching the floor and I had things in the floor under the pants. Tsk tsk. So, I decided to change things up and I switched it all around! I put the pants on the top rack and the shirts on the bottom rack. I have a few long shirts that drag, so I put them in the corner with my dresses! Voila! Now My clothes are neatly organized and I have a shelf I can use!

I rolled t-shirts and sweats and put them on the shelf for easy access. I have much more room in my closet now that I can utilize that shelf!

Deborah Lippmann polish + link to freebie!

I love painting my nails! Yes, I love going to the salon, but there is just a certain satisfaction a girl has when she paints her own nails and they actually turn out looking great. This love began young, I blame my posh granny! She always had her nails painted and bought me nail polish all the time. When I was little, we would file and paint our nails together. I was a pretty big tomboy growing up, but that didn’t stop me from having the prettiest nails around!

So, today I’m highlighting a nail brand that I love, Deborah Lippmann! Thanks to none other than my posh granny for this love. She got me this set of Deborah Lippmann polishes a couple of Christmas’s ago and I have fell in love with it. Every time I use it I’m amazed at how nicely the polish goes on and how long it lasts. The packaging is also super convenient! I’ve dropped it into my suitcase for trips before, because it has a great variety and I know it has everything I need and because I just love doing my nails on vacation! It’s also great because I can set the polish in the compartments as I do my nails and they won’t tip over. If you are not familiar with the brand I highly recommend you try it! Deborah is a renowned celebrity manicurist whose nail polish and treatment products are of exceptional quality and are affordable. Unfortunately you can’t get this particular set anymore, because it was a one time special, but she has similar sets on her website at:

My set has 3 collections: Treatment Nail Lacquer Quartet, Classic Nail Lacquer Quartet and Statement Nail Lacquer Quartet. It literally covers everything you could ever need and want to apply to your nails! The quality is unbelievable as well.

Treatment Nail Lacquer Quartet

The Treatment Nail Lacquer Quartet includes: Cuticle Remover, Cuticle Oil, Gel Lab Base Coat, Gel Lab Top Coat. Okay, now I’ve got your attention!

Classic Nail Lacquer Quartet

The Classic Nail Lacquer Quartet includes: Fashion, Sarah Smile, It’s Raining Men, and Single Ladies. I really can’t choose a favorite out of these. They are all so good and rich in color. The consistency is thick and smooth. These go on like a gel without needing any sort of lamp. They also tend to fill themselves in. When you think you have a little spot that isn’t completely full, it tends to fill as it dries. It’s pretty cool to watch! Its also easier to apply without making a mess of it! The Gel Lab Base and Top Coat also work wonders along with these polishes. I’m not typically a fan of base and top coats, but these just work. They all dry quickly and harden well also.

Statement Nail Lacquer Quartet

The Statement Nail Lacquer Quartet includes: Mermaid’s Dream, Groove Is In The Heart, I Know What Boys Like, and Stormy Weather. This set is more for when you really want to “make a statement!” Mermaid’s Dream is just that…it’s a dream! It’s a VERY fun polish! Stormy Weather has become one of my favorites, because it is very versatile and calm without being too dark. It is a great neutral grey. These also go on similar to a gel, except Mermaid’s Dream of course is a little different, because of the glitter in it.

Fashion & Sarah Smile, so classy!

I can’t wait to try more of Deborah’s nail polish and treatments! Of course, I’ll keep you informed when I do!

Posh Peach Guide to Fall Necessities

It’s fall! That means sweater weather, scarves, pumpkins, boots, yummy food, and lots of coziness in general. In keeping with the spirit of fall, I wanted share some of the things that I’ve been loving/needing/obsessing over this fall:

  1. White pumpkins: So classy! I still love orange pumpkins, but adding a white one in there gives any fall decor a little something extra.image
  2. EOS lip balm: If you’re like me, colder weather usually means chapped lips. I’m obsessed with the pink EOS, and I apply it approximately one million times per day. Mine pretty much lives on my desk at work so I can grab it easily.image
  3. Simply Nature organic light roast coffee pods: We got these from Aldi, and they are so good. I love trying new coffee types, and this one is definitely a new favorite just in time for fall.image
  4. Hand lotion: Along the same lines as the lip balm, I’m always using hand lotion in the colder months. My current favorite brand is Thymes in the Moonflower scent, which I scored from TJ Maxx (#maxxinista over here!).image
  5. Fuzzy socks: Truthfully, fuzzy socks may be my one true love. I’m pretty much always cold, and in the fall & winter I really couldn’t survive without all of my warm fuzzy socks. The brighter, fluffier, and cuter-the better!image

What are some of your fall favorites?

Closet Clean Up

With 2015 drawing closer to an end and the weather turning cooler, I feel like this is the perfect time to clean out closets! Around this time of the year is usually when I change out my summer clothes for my winter clothes. So here’s my tip: when you have both sets out at once, take the time to go through everything. I like to do three piles:

-Yard sale/online sale

Try to donate or sell items that 1) you haven’t worn in a year 2) no longer fit you well 3) aren’t your style anymore.

If you want to keep sentimental items (high school or concert T-shirts, etc), just limit the number (3 or 4 instead of 15!). I also try to only keep things to sell that are good quality & that I know other people will want-otherwise that’s just more stuff sitting around that I could have taken to Goodwill.

I’ve recently been making an effort to slowly transition my closet from so many random things to a more cohesive wardrobe with versatile pieces. It doesn’t happen overnight, but taking advantage of times like these when I have all of my clothes out anyway make a big difference.

It’s tempting to hang on to everything “just in case,” but I always feel so much better after getting rid of clothes I don’t wear/need. The extra closet spaces gives me the motivation to re-organize. Plus, the cash I make from any yard sale or online sale can go toward new items!

What are your tips & motivation to keep your closet tidy?

In case you missed any of the tips I posted with my 20 day adventure I’ve listed them below. It’s very possible you missed some, because it took me well over 20 days to complete! I definitely underestimated how much time I would have to post them and went on vacation during the time, etc. However, I made a commitment to complete it and I did! So, I’m very happy to announce that the mission is complete and I would love to hear your feedback/comments! I hope this has in some way inspired someone, even if just one person to a healthier lifestyle. I would love to hear how your health journey is going and the things you have discovered along the way! For me, it’s a continual journey and process to fight my urge to be lazy or eat junk food. The best thing about writing these blogs is that in some way it makes me feel like I should hold myself somewhat accountable to fulfill each of these, since I have given this advice to do so! I feel much healthier since I have adopted these habits and am getting much stronger.

Thank you all for reading! Please follow 2PoshPeaches and feel free to share our posts. We are very excited for things to come and are going to be launching many new types of blog posts very soon.

20 Days, 20 Tips, Farewell 20’s: #1

Day #1: SMILE!

My final tip when all is said and done is to just smile! Be happy! Life is too short to be sad or unhappy. Make the best of every situation and wake up with a smile on your face. Make it a point to smile in the mirror every morning. Tell yourself it’s going to be a great day and go tackle it! When you are working out, get excited about how great you are doing and how you have progressed and don’t be afraid to smile about it. Who cares if someone else in the gym sees you smile? Maybe your happiness will be contagious.

Be Self-Aware
Do not always be focused on yourself, but do be very self-aware. Acknowledge when you are doing something great and give yourself some positive reinforcement by smiling about it. Maybe you tried out a new recipe and it smells delicious, reward yourself and your mind with a heartfelt smile! Maybe you noticed someone checking you out at the mall, give them a smile, give yourself a pat on the back and strut your stuff! No one truly knows your struggles, but you. If you wear everything on your sleeve and over-analyze everything, you can bring yourself down. Honestly, everyone else in this day and age has enough to worry about, so most people are not judging or even looking at you, unless you make it a point to be noticed by them. Smile at them. Say hi! It could make someone’s day. That alone will make you even happier. If you choose to smile you will train your brain to be happy and you will focus less on the negativity and more on all the great things in your life! It has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, extend your lifespan, boost your immune system, lower your blood pressure and the list goes on!

Day #2: Study

A huge part of this health adventure is learning, growing and maturing in your decisions for a healthier lifestyle. One of the best ways to do this is to do research. Google, read blogs, watch youtube videos, lookup recipes, go to the library-YES the library- and take advantage of all the resources available to you! You can learn anything these days by searching and reading. You can learn different forms of exercise like dance or yoga just by watching videos and reading books. You can try all kinds of different recipes and explore different types of food too! Anything you want to know or need to know can be found online or in a book. It doesn’t hurt to even read a few inspirational books whether they are self-help, lifestyle, or autobiographies of successful people.

Become an expert
What part of your health adventure is the hardest? What are you struggling with the most? What do you know the least about? Choose that subject and become an expert in it. Research everything you can about it and choose to embrace and love it! Convince yourself it will pay off in the end. If you can’t convince yourself you love it (just like I can’t convince myself I love this half-marathon I’m training for) then commit to doing your best for a certain amount of time, say for instance two months. Then, when that time is up, if you still don’t love it move on to another subject, but at least give yourself the opportunity to learn and grow and possibly fall in love with something you may have never expected!

Day #3: Play Hard, Rest Hard.

Every girl needs her beauty rest. Anyone that knows me knows, I love sleep! There’s nothing like snuggling up in a plush bed after a hard day at work, working out and getting to cuddle a posh puppy! Make sure you get enough sleep. Don’t neglect yourself. If your body is tired, let it rest. Work your schedule out to give yourself time to rest. If you need to go to bed earlier, make it happen. On days that you don’t have to get up, say on the weekend or your day off, don’t set an alarm. Let yourself naturally wake up. Some may not agree with this, but I think sometimes its good to just let your body rest and get up when it’s ready. If you have kids, this is probably more difficult, but still important nonetheless. So like I said, make it happen!

If you are having trouble sleeping, try working out really hard right before bed. Get all your nervous energy out and then take a hot shower. Relax, read and sweet dreams!

Your body and skin will thank you!

20 Days, 20 Tips, Farewell 20’s: #4

Day #4: Set Realistic Goals & Expectations

You may have been advised to do this in the past with a project or career, I know I have been. It really does work! Instead of setting a seemingly unrealistic goal, set a goal you can easily achieve. It may be to workout 3 days a week starting out and then once you have completed this goal for a few months try for 4 days a week. You can also apply this to your eating habits. Maybe one meal a day should be extremely healthy and the others can remain the same as usual until you are ready to eat more healthy meals throughout the day. (see Tip #18) You might even set a goal to do 50 sit-ups and 20 push-ups a day, every day for a month. Once you have achieved that goal, you raise the bar to 75 situps and 35 push ups. Something attainable, but well worth the effort. This doesn’t mean to not aim high as I suggested in Tip #10, but if you are having trouble sticking to a routine and always seem to lose track of time and miss your workout, something like this will keep you on track. It will get you started in the right direction until you are confident and comfortable working out longer every day or eating healthy every day and it won’t seem like a daunting task. Sometimes we can’t see the finish line, because we are too focused on the obstacles in between, but if we take it one step at a time, eventually the whole race will seem like a piece of cake.

A good example of this mind trick is if you watch a sport like American Ninja Warrior. You will see all the competitors get to a certain obstacle and it seems like nobody can beat it. It almost becomes understood that it is too hard and no one will complete the course. Then, all of a sudden someone comes out and dominates it! Then another and another. It’s as if the one, unbeatable obstacle is no match for the competitors anymore, because now they know it is doable. Once you break that barrier, you will be on your way to knocking down hurdle after hurdle on your health adventure!
